Lucky 7 Ranch was founded in 1872. Four generations of the Walter family have owned, worked, cared for, and made memories on this land. Today the ranch remains what it has always been: a living, working place shaped by family, livestock, water, weather, and responsibility.
Family, Land, and the Long View
Set high on the Paunsaugunt Plateau near Hatch, Utah, the ranch stretches across irrigated pasture, exposed grassland, protected valleys, ponds, and the winding Sevier River. It is beautiful country, but it is also demanding country. Caring for it requires patience, attention, and the long view.
That same outlook guides the Walter family today. We raise and finish beef here in small groups, grow grass and alfalfa on the property, host gatherings large and small, and keep the ranch open as a place where people can reconnect—with one another and with the landscape.
Legacy is more than a date over the door. It is the work of handing something valuable forward in better condition than you found it.
