See what you’re made of by tackling the Cowabunga rope swing, flying high across the zipline, or go Man From Snowy River on horseback, but either way you’re in for a great time. Lucky 7 Ranch is all about bringing friends and families together to make memories that last a lifetime.

The Ranch was founded by Russel and Patricia Walter and is here today as part of their legacy. Having moved from Las Vegas and having 5 children “Lucky 7” was a fitting name. Generations have both worked the ranch and spent leisure time enjoying this beautiful place. The ranch consists of several hundred acres located on the Paunsaugunt Cliffs Plateau with several ponds and the Sevier River running through it. The ranch elevation is 6800 – 7000 feet. Thus, be prepared for cool temperatures, however, the afternoons warm up and may require sun block. It is a working ranch with Charolais Cattle being raised on the ranch.


Location
The ranch is located on Highway 89 approximately 2 miles north of Hatch, Utah.(Download Printable Map) The entrance is at mile marker #119 on Highway 89. There is a real estate sales office and Paunsaugunt Cliffs signage at the turnoff point. Cross the bridge staying right to the home by the big green shop.

Facilities
There is a large grass area and pavilion that is able to accommodate large groups. Be prepared to bring your own tents and pitch them in the designated area. In addition, there are several RV spots and parking areas. There is a new restroom facility with mens and womens restrooms and showers. Under the pavilion there is some commercial cooking equipment with a double sink, four burners, a flat grill for pancakes and a barbeque for grill for steaks and hamburgers. There are four large picnic tables. There is a dumpster close by for garbage. All homes are occupied by the ranch owners.

Swimming
There is a large pond for swimming and water activities with a rope swing and zipline. The water is clear and it will take your breath away because of cool water temperature and high elevation. The Sevier River also runs through the ranch and tubing down the river can be done during the spring. No youth are allowed at the river or the ponds unsupervised. There is no lifeguard or adult supervision provided by the Lucky 7 Ranch and it is the responsibility of the group to provide supervision for any water activities. Life Jackets are required at all times for canoeing and water activities for individuals under 18.

Fishing
There is one fishing ponds on the ranch and fishing is only accommodated by special arrangement. All fishing is catch and release and also requires adult supervision. No fishing equipment is provided, only lures and flies can be used. (no worms, power bait, etc.) A fishing license is not required on the ponds, however, a license is required to fish on the river or the nearby reservoirs.

ATV’s & Mountain Bikes
You may notice ATV’s on the ranch. Those are for the ranch use and not for the use of guests. Anyone wishing to 4-wheeling or mountain bike, must bring their own ATV’s or mountain bikes.

Skeet Shooting Range
On the ranch, is a designated shooting area. Guns are only to be shot in the designated shooting area and under the supervision of qualified adult leaders. Adult leaders are responsible for ensuring the safety of all participants. If guns and ammunition are brought to the ranch, they should be stored by an adult in a secure area. Participants are to provide their own guns, ammunition, targets, and other shooting equipment.

Livestock
As already mentioned, this is a working ranch and guests are expected to leave the livestock alone and to not disturb them. In addition, we have a gate policy. Leave the gate the way you found it. If it was opened, leave it open. It if was closed, make sure you close it.

Fires
Located in the Pavilion is a large open fireplace. Fires are only permitted in the fireplace.

Leave no trace
We expect our guests to leave the ranch and the facilities the way they found it and be sure all garbage and debris is removed. Please report immediately if there is any damage or any broken facilities.

Release and Liability Waiver
All participants should be aware that participating in activities at the Lucky 7 Ranch is not without risk. Participants, and if under 18 the participants parent or legal guardian, must sign the Lucky 7 Ranch Release and Liability waiver to participate in any activities at the Lucky 7 Ranch. All participants are expected to use good judgment and participate in activities at their own risk and under their own supervision.

 Area Activities
There are several areas that may be of interest close to the ranch. Bryce Canyon National Park (biking, hiking, and campground) is 30 minutes away, Red Canyon Recreational Area (biking, hiking and campground) is 20 minutes away. Pine Lake and Tropic Reservoir are within 30 minutes of the ranch and are popular fishing spots. There are a couple of convenience stores, restaurants, and motels in Hatch (2 miles away). More shopping and supplies are located in Panguitch (13 miles away).
